Question SD Card Reader Stopped Working on Dell Inspiron

I have a Dell Inspiron 3847 with Windows 10 and I can't download photos from my camera's SD card anymore. When I insert the card into the Dell's slot nothing happens. It was working fine last week but now the card reader is dead as a doornail. Everything else is working fine, I just can't download my photos. Can anyone guide me as to where to look or what to do? I've tried another new SD card but no joy.

My first thought is the port is dirty and or oxidized over the years.

Look in the port good with a flash light they get dust bunny filled over the years.

Here you go. Try to air dust the port, but if that doesn’t work, the adapter above should fix you up.

I cleaned the port first thing with contact cleaner but it still didn't work. I'm stumped. It's like the program for it is gone. I've searched through the files and so far haven't found anything that's for the SD card reader. I tried the adapter, my wife had one, and it didn't work either.
