Question SD Card reader won`t work but MS works

Hello everyone, so this is what's happening, i got an old SD/MS Card reader, when connected to my PC, it states that both the MS and SD Card reader are installed, but when i plug the SD Card into it, nothing happens, the light on the adapter doesn't flash and nothing shows up, however, the MS Port works just fine (tested with a MS Card) could it be a driver issue? the SD Card is SDHC, this card reader is over 10 years old, so what could be wrong here?

it's possible the old reader can't handle the new SD card. they have changed the design over the years and your reader may not be able to read the high density card that did not exist when the reader was made. if you happen to have a 10 year old SD card, try it out and i bet it works

most likely this is the issue you are facing.

I just noticed my drivers are outdated, just downloaded the latest version, let's see if it works!

You could always check the specs of the reader by googling the model# to see if it supports SDHC.
