SD Card writing issues (can still delete)

I can read and delete files on my SD card, but can not write to it as it is "write protected" I am having this issue with every SD card that I try. However on my old laptop I can both write and read them.

Not sure if this helps but my current OS system is Windows 10 and my old laptop is Windows 7.

Thought it could be a driver issue with it being either broken/missing.

Any thoughts?

Backup the data you have on it, just to be on the safe side (if it's important to you). After that go ahead and try the methods for write-protection removal from this article: http://www.wikihow.com/Disable-Write-Protection.
