Hello all.

I have has a Sandisk Ultra Plus SSD in my system for about 2 years now and have recently noticed that it always seems to be reading and writing small amounts of data (usually in the kilobytes).
This is what the task manager is saying.

I was wondering if this was normal and whether this will have any impact on the longevity of the SSD. I'm not sure if this is a recent thing or if it always has been doing this because I haven't really thought much about it until now.

This is what CrystalDiskInfo is saying. If someone could explain what this means and if anything is of concern then that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much for looking.

Yes, drives (SSD or HDD) are being continuously being written to. Just a little bit. If you were to look at a ProcessMonitor, you'd see constant readwrite cycles.

However....this is NOT a concern with current SSD drives.
This is one of my SSD's, now 3.5 years old. Used to be the OS drive, now just an extra drive in the system.

Yours is fine.

I would make an educated guess that it has something to do with that WiFi graph. It probably takes more CPU cycles and disk activity for a WiFi connection.

I use Ethernet and I do have disk activity every few seconds, but nowhere near what you're showing.

In any case, it's not likely anything to worry about.
