seagate 1 tb hard disk not working

Hi, my Seagate Expansion external drive is not showing in disk management or my computer or device manager. i cannot do anything with it. I have tried putting it in a different computer but still doesnt work.
It fell from my hand about 6 inches onto the table & after that it stopped working. The light of the hard disk is on, when plugged in, but i cannot feel any rotation inside.
All help is appreciated.

Short of sending it a Data Recovery company/specialist, there might not be anything you can at this point. Was that drive in action when it was dropped?

yes, the hard disk was in action when it fell from my hand onto the desk.

If the data is very valuable, send it to a data recovery company/specialist, as Dr_Luke confirm, that is your one best shot at this point. Anything you try to do will make recovery attempts by DR specialist much harder, much more expensive, and the chances of recovery less so.

Hi Partap, there are a few things you can try,
a) see if you can run scandisk from a dos prompt,
b) boot up with it connected
However, with my Maxtor HD which I dropped I took the case off, carefully removed and reconnected the power board and it worked fine after that - obviously it had came slightly loose when I dropped it, Maybe work a try if you feel you don't have anything left to try - good luck

I should have remembered that sometimes things that have been knocked loose can be re-tightened, thanks for the reminder!
