Hi all!

OK - I have a Seagate 2TB Backup Plus Portable Drive, model no: SRD00F1, AKA: STDR2000200

Now this drive works fine with my MacBook Pro 2013. However, it will not work with my MacBook Air M1. Having been told by Apple it may be the lead, I have now tried three leads, and still no cigar.

I then reached out to Seagate. They informed me that this drive is not USB-C compatible, and that is the reason it won’t work. BTW, it does mount, but I can’t drag files to the drive, nor can I erase it, and it ejects itself after around 10-15 seconds.

So I was wondering, is it the HDD itself, or the interface in the enclosure that’s the problem, or both? I wondered if it was the interface, would it work with a newer USB-C compatible enclosure or interface?

Thanks!
