Question Seagate 5TB back up plus SUPER slow?

Hello, after looking for more storage and being pleased with the 4TB storage Seagate has on my xbox, I decided to get this for my desktop. Now it does have 5TB.....but it is just so <Mod Edit> slow. Allocating disk space for steam (normally takes seconds/a minute or two) has taken hours per game.

The instructions said to just plug it in to one of my usb ports and to go with it.

Anyway to speed up the allocation process for steam games on this drive? Origin seems to work fine.

Did you get a drive from the same series (Same RPM and cache size)?
