You may be able to obtain some additional drive information and details via Powershell.

Here is a link from within this forum that may be helpful:

There are other online tutorials and guides available if you decide to dig in deeper.

Just gather information. Do not attempt any active cmdlets to make drive changes. Such actions should be a last resort - especially if you are not used to working in a command mode/powershell environment.

And after backing up any important folders and files.
Hi yes it has external power source

actually i replaced it quite a while ago as original broke
but it dosnt seem like a power issue
case starts up with 0 issues and blue light on case is strong with no flicker so im doubtful its that

No i dont use any backup programs.and this issue has only happened within the last week/week and a half

.rolled back latest update on laptop "10-1-2017" aswell to see if that was the issue but nope

case seems fine it starts with no issue . device is seen in device manager when clicked on properties it shoes device working fine

but i cant get volume info nor does it display under "my computer"

it will then disconnect and try again and eventually i get the set address failed issue and pop up with usb device has malfunctioned

[EDIT] i Have ran seatools on one laptop win 10 and the drive dosnt show up
it does spend a while locating the drive when checking for usb but ultimatly it dosnt show up

will try again on win 7 laptop this evening
