Seagate backup plus external hard drive

Hello,

I have a seagate backup plus 3TB desktop external hard drive.. And suddenly it stoped working, when i plug it into my pc, i hear the sound of the computer that there is something connected, and i see the notification even that its connected, but the hard drive itself won't turn on.. Even the blue light won't turn on.

Anyone can help !?

Is the drive still in warranty? If yes, return it. If no, remove it from the USB 'shell', and plug the drive inside as a normal SATA drive into your PC.

Hey there, Abu Samra!

I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable with your external and also try a different USB port on your PC. Another thing you can do is go to Device Manager and uninstall & then re-install the device from there. Here's a guide that might be helpful: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725782.aspx
Have you tested how the external drive will react to another computer?
It would also be a good idea to test the HDD using the manufacturer's diagnostic tool in order to determine the health and SMART status.
