Hello there!

I am having an issue with my external HD. This happened after my Windows 10 laptop got stucked so I have to force restart by holding the power button of my laptop.

After the restart, my HD suddenly isn't recognized by my laptop and its lights isn't turning on but the HD itself is spinning.

  1. My HD is recognized by Seagate Seatools as Unknown.
  2. On disk part it was recognized as Online but has 0 Bytes of free/used space.
  3. On disk manager properties, it was recognized. It says "This device is working properly." but everytime I populate it, it always says, "Volume information for this disk cannot be found.".

I hope anyone could help.

Hi, we are sorry to see that you are having problems with the drive.

If the drive is not being detected by SeaTools for testing, the drive could be defective. Do you have important data on it?

I am a photographer and all of our photos were stored on this hard drive.

Is there any way to revive the drive?

We recommend changing the cable, port and if possible trying to connect it on another computer. If this doesn't work, could you sent us a screenshot of the device manager and the disk management? Or any screenshot where the drive is being detected. :)

I've already changed my cable, port, and plugged into a different computer. Same problem.

The HD is spinning but the light indicator isn't turning on.

Please see Mega link below for the screenshots.

Hi, I am having the same problem and as I am a photographer I too have many of my clients data stored in it. Have you found any process of recovering the data?
