Seagate hard drive

Hi I've got a seagate 1tb 3.0 external hard drive it fell onto carpet last week and since then none of my computers open it up. However it works perfectly when plugged into my TVs but obviously I can't transfer the data from it this way. I've taken apart and tried a Sata to USB adapter and still no Joy. Any ideas

Nothing like that at all. Wasn't sure if there was a fix if I took my drive apart. Can't really afford to lose anything though so not sure what my best option is.

Well the disk management should show the hdd , but you may need to format it to be visible to the 'MyComputer' .
I think it's time to turn to a professional , if you want your data ...

I think your right there. How much does the service usually cost shall I try a local computer repair shop

I don't know but data reovery is very expensive when the drive is dead . Yours should not be a big problem . Who knows , maybe they get it working without anything fancy .
