i have a seagate st2000dm001 hard drive. Its has 2 TB of storage, i think it is the 666 platter version. The reallocated sector count is is at 1008. The count seems to be going up by 8 once or twice a week. The current pending sector count is 32, the uncorrectable sector count is 32. Is my drive dieing?

Well, run the Long Test and see what that yields, be aware if it finds issues and you allow it to attempt a repair you should have your files backed up first, just in case. *If* what Defraggler is telling you is accurate, you should back up any important files and prepare for a possible hard drive failure. Beyond that, here's a rather lengthy thread that may be of some help, someone that had a similar issue with a Seagate drive-

Hi there Drew125,

I would also say that you need to test it with a brand specific testing tool as Grimwinder already suggested. In case you get similar results, you need to back up your data as soon as possible. The HDD seems to have bad sectors related problem and can fail at any time. Just RMA it if still under warranty. In case it is not, it may be a good idea to get another one and use this one for storing non important data.
Sometimes the 'writing zeros' approach could slow the degrading process down a bit.

While it's a relative thing, Seagate isn't the best for failure rates, though that varies some by model. Western Digital, Samsung, and Hitachi are considerably more reliable, for instance (and not because D_Know_WD is watching, I've always used WD HDDs personally and never had a failure ;-p). Either way, the fact is, you sometimes just get a bad part when dealing with PCs. If Seagate's returns works like most these days, you can plug in the model and serial number on their Support page to see if it's still under warranty, good luck-
