I use an Gigabyte Q2006 notebook with windows 7 installed. When I start Windows by turning on the computer, as the "welcome" window passes a search box starts up and keeps blinking like its being commanded to open every second due to a keyboard damage. I checked the netbook keyboard but it seems fine. I can't even shut the search box or minimize it, it just reappears!

Solution
First, start the comp in Safe Mode. If you've never done this before, just continuously tap the F8 key while the comp is booting. When the start-up options appear, select the option without any extras like networking.

After booting into Safe Mode is completed, go to Start>Run>msconfig>Enter. Click on the "Start-up" tab and see what programs are being called for by Windows Registry when the comp boots.

Look closely at each entry. If you don't recognize a program use Google to get more info. I don't know which app. would load a search box, but check each entry until you find it and then uncheck it. Select "OK" and reboot the comp in normal start-up. See if your problem is solved?
