Hello

I'm slowly building yet another variation in my rig, and I've decided to replace the PSU to the SS-1000XP 1000w platinum, and I've researched the fan diameters to be 120mm, same as the Noctua NF-F12 fan. My question is, would it be possible to replace the stock fan in this PSU with an NF-F12?

I'm planning to replace every single fan in my unit to an NF-F12 to reduce noise, and I believe it is possible to swap out the fans by cutting the connector in half and soldering black & yellow of the fan to the PSU fan connector, but to my knowledge, there is an extra switch in this PSU for activating hybrid mode. I'm not sure how to go about this. Since I'll be getting the PSU new, it'll never have been turned on, so there is no risk of getting electrocuted, and I've got a vague idea of what to do, but I'm just asking if it'll require more than just soldering two wires to the new fan? Some might say just leave it alone, but I'm prepared to take the chances at doing this swap. Its not too risky, but if anyone thinks the fan is already quiet, then that would probably mean swapping the fan isn't worth it. How do I go about swapping the fan in this PSU?

Thanks!
