Coolit is ok (read: not excellent) for dual cores, but completely inadequate for a quad, let alone an overclocked one. For the price of that cooler, you can build yourself a very elaborated custom water cooling, with larger radiators.

To simply put, Coolit products are junks.

Um... not adequate for a quad???? based on what? I'm not going to do the fan-boy bit, because I honestly believe that this is too much money for a CPU cooler. The install is kind of a pain and with the whole setup being proprietary, means that I can’t just go get another pump. All that said, it did cool. It cooled below room temp. A lot below… My Q6600 was pushed to about 3.2. My P5W DH deluxe isn’t the best for OC’ing… so I was limited to this. But that is a lot of heat to generate. The most important thing about the Coolit is to have really good ventilation. The fan on this closed system by the radiator is a 92mm. If the case isn’t getting A LOT of intake, then the only real air moving past the radiator is controlled by the 92mm fan. This is also bad because then the NB doesn’t get enough air moved past it. To make up for that, I put a really high CFM 120mm fan at the side. That made all the difference in the world. It really kept my Q6600 cold. Cold… not cool. I adjusted it upwards to let it generate some heat… like mid 20’s. It did do what it was supposed to… and very well. I could have had sufficient results, however, with air cooling. Less of a hassle and if the CPU gets into the mid 40’s, its OK.

excuse me,,,reset the cmos,,,just for installing a lousy video card,,,,,pleeese roadrunner do wake up,,the ,,only,,time one should reset the cmos is after flashing,or if there has been a unaccountable outage,,furthermore,,the type of ram the op is using ,,MAY,not be supported by that asus mobo,my a8n-sli se's qvl does not list that type of ram, furthermore this person really needs experienced onsite assistance, does not seem to know now to reset the cmos properly etc,we cannot remote teach people on the web about computers this is a hands on thingy, tho i do wish him every success..:)

Holy $#@! a 12 pg. thread. (Wonders if the author ever got his puter worked out) would like to thank everyone for helping 2 hours of work go by swimmingly. =)

What is your oppinion on the new model Suzuki Bandits or the New B-King?

I'm not personally familiar with them. The Bandit would be a good inexpensive all around bike. I know from personal experience that Suzuki engines are virtually bullet proof, with a few past exceptions.

[rant]

The B-king on the other hand would be a complete waste of money. Way too much hype for a stripper bike with some chrome, yipes. It costs more than the GSX-R 1000 which is more my type of bike. I know, different riding position etc. Hell, it costs more than a Hayabusa. The Japanese must be laughing their arses off at the stupid Americans. Any GSX-R 600-1000, Hayabusa, or a stripped Bandit is about all from Suzuki. the SV1000 has a detuned TL1000 engine, I think. Too many people wrecked the TL1000 and Suzuki decided it would be wise to make it more mild mannered. It doesn't even have the upside down forks anymore.

[/end rant]

For a cheap fast everyday bike the Bandit would do well. There are also bikes by the competition that are nice.

The supercharged B-King Concept Bike would be a blast but alas it's $30,000, which is a lot of mods to any other bike. Also, it's not offered.

wow, you know a good bit about bikes huh, i am still rding a 2002 suzuki bandit 1200, havent really modded anything on it except a viper exhaust, did a 520 conversion on teh chain and sprockets, K&N air filter, drag style handle bars, and a few other lil things. Had a friend say i would never get over 125mph due to the aerodynamic on the bike but last year i split 145 wide a$$ open.
