Hi there,
I have two screens connected to my PC and the secondary one will flash to black for about a second every minute or so.
My primary screen (BenQ G2220HDA) is connected to my PC via a DVI cable, and my secondary (Dell 1909Wb, in portrait mode) is connected via a VGA cable to a mini displayport on my GPU via an adaptor. The setup isn't ideal but it's my only option with the gear I have.
The problem seems to occur more frequently as the computer stays on, and once it's been on for 2-3 hours the screen flashes so often it's practically unusable. I updated my video card drivers but to no avail.
I have a Gigabyte R9 280 and a Corsair VS 550W PSU.
Is the adaptor/VGA cable combo causing this, or is it a problem with my PC?
Note: The dual-screen setup is new, I previously just had the Dell display hooked up via DVI and everything worked well.
I get the DisplayPort Lower Setting Applied error when I start my PC. (the one talking about a problem with the connection, meaning I can't use the highest resolution/refresh rates).
Update: I tried a combination of a bunch of different solutions, including resolution, and it works now.
