Hi there,

All of sudently my desktop starts to flickering the image, it goes black for half a second, and the behaviour is random, it only does on the TV and not on the main monitor. If i connect my laptop to the TV it works fine.

Here is the list of things i have done.
  • Change the hdmi cable
  • Disconnect the main screen (Asus VG248QE) and let only the TV (Samsung UE50AU7105KXXC)
  • Update drivers including NVIDIA card
  • Update BIOS
  • Test only with 1x8gb RAM on the different slots
  • Test with another graphic card from other desktop
  • Disconnect CD/DVD sata cable
  • Disconnect SD card readerd sata cable
  • Using only Display port on graphics card
  • Different resolution
  • Different refresh rate
  • Format Windows

My setup:

  • Nvidia Geforce gtx 660
  • Intel core i5-4590
  • 2x4gb Corsair ddr3
  • Corsair cx500
  • Motherboard Asus H81M-E
  • Samsung SSD 850 EVO
  • Seagate HDD ST500

My Screens:

  • Asus VG248QE
  • TV Samsung UE50AU7105KXXC

If the new PSU did not make a difference (contingent upon the PSU being properly installed) then more troubleshooting is needed.

How is the TV connected with respect to power? Does it share any common surge protectors, power strips, UPS connections, etc.?

One possibility is some sort of loop:

Device A connected to Device B conected to Device C connected to Device D connected to Device A again. Look for any sort of wiring path of connections that makes a full circle/loop between devices.

Try the TV in other locations/power sources and on other computers.

Do you have another known working (no flickering) TV or monitor that can be swapped in for the flickering TV?

Determine if the flickering remains with the current system with new PSU and other components or follows the TV.

The key is to methodically isolate potential culprits one at a time.

If the flickering ends when one particular device is not in use and not connected then that device is certainly suspect.

Keep in mind that there could be some combination of events that cause the flickering.

Those situations are difficult to diagnose.
