Secondary hd not recognized

Hi there,

I have a ssd installed as my primary hd. I tried installing a secondary hd, but the hd is not recognized. I've confirmed that the HD is working, and tried using multiple cables, but the HD never shows up when I boot into windows or in the bios menu. Help would be great!

My motherboard is a p9x79, if that matters.

check that the data cable is on right.most time with sata drives and mb people put the hardrive on the ports that are controlled by the thrid party sata chipset..most times these are off by default. check your mb guild to see what color ports are the sata 2.0 ports that are controlled by the intel chipset and are on.
