[SOLVED] secondary HDD dying? (very slow when backing up data) always 100% usage (Windows 10 Pro x64)

i'm trying to backup my data by just copying the files to another HDD but it's taking ages and sometimes the speed stops at 0 bytes and then it goes back to 400 KB/s and up (1MB+)

is this the safest way to backup my data?

Edit: also the time remaining says 1 day then 20 hrs, then again 13 hrs and so on (i know this isn't accurate, but still)

the hdd is about to fail as you could see the pending sector, uncorrectable sector, and reallocated sector is on yellow, do a backup before its too late.

Yes.
And copy in small pieces, not try to grab the whole thing at once.

Your backup drive looks unhealthy.

I use the same method you do as far as a simple copy. I run mine once a week using an SSD mounted in a USB 3.1 enclosure which takes less than fifteen minutes including plugging in the drive for around 100gig of data.
