Now that I have Win10 (from XP) my secondary's HDD's they go to sleep after being inactive.

The only downside is that I have to wait like a couple of seconds every time (they are sleeping) I have to access something, it’s not a big deal.

But I'm thinking what’s worst for HDD durability, be always spinning or stop and start like 6 time a day

232GB Western Digital WDC WD2500AAKX-001CA0 (I'ts a Blue one)
931GB Seagate ST1000DL002-9TT153 (I think this is low quality, it was from a multimedia storage.)

Maybe I will just increase the minutes before sleep, I think it's at 20min.

Hi there ststns,

I believe it would be better for the drive to spin down. Yeah, you can just increase the spin down time.

Apart from that, you can test both drive in order to see whether they are in a healthy state. You can use some brand specific tools.
For the WD drive, you can use WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool (short and extended tests): http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=W9tU1g

I tested them with the WD Lifeguard and the SG Seatools and the test result was: PASS.
I show you the info from Speccy, as I see it better presented and more uniform.

What I did for now is increase the time before sleep from 20min to 60min.
