"Disable inheritance" greyed out in advanced security tab. Cannot give myself permissions as a result.
I have been trying for a while to delete the WindowsApps folder on a drive I dont need it on, but do not want to format it. I could not delete it because all permissions belonged to System, and I only had read. I tried for a while with what I feel as though is everything:
•Acquiring permissions through advanced security
•Acquiring permissions through 3rd party programs (TakeOwnershipEx)
•Acquiring permissions through command prompt
•Giving permissions to Administrator(s) and signing in to the actual Administrator account
I also tried using command prompt to force delete. I believe I found the issue, however. The permissions of the children folder of WindowsApps are inheriting old permissions from WindowsApps (no read/write, etc.). Ive tried using tutorials on removing inheritance, however all of them say the same thing - click the Disable inheritance button. Obviously, this hasnt worked and I am stumped on what to do. If somebody could help, it would be appreciated.
