Seeking advice on components to build a new desktop PC.

I'm prepared to build a new powerful desktop PC.

Configuration
===========

1) CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (16C 32T)

2) Mobo - ASUS PRIME X570-P
(I don't need WiFi)

3) Video card - NVIDIA Corporation TU116 [GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER] (rev a1) (already available)

4) Display - Dell 32" 4K display (already available)

5) RAM - 64G DDR4

6) Hard drive for running OS, Oracle VirtualBox and other software - 2TB PCIe Gen4, dual M.2, HDMI SSD

7) Hard drive for data storage - 4TB WD magnetic hard drive (already available)

8) Power Supply - Corsair CX550M (already available)

The PC is solely for daily working.

Comment and suggestion are welcome. Thanks in advance.

What is the primary use? 4K monitor with a 1650 GPU won't be a gaming computer.

An AM4, as long as it is Win11 compatible, can be a fine long term box. They are still good mid-tier builds, IMO.

Yea, but the deals on 12th gen Intel, right now, kinda outshine it. A 12900k is faster, in nearly all aspects, and cheaper, than a 5950x right now. 13700k is even slightly cheaper, and a bit faster yet.

For mid tier the 12600k and 12700k are hard to beat. I love AM4, as I have been rocking one since the week the 3700x launched, but wouldn't build even a mid tier build now, with it. Great drop in upgrades though, for existing AM4 users.

OP: I would check this out, and then decide what you think is best, for your use case.

Gotta say unless you are on a tight budget, either go am5 or go Intel 12th generation if on a budget. At least with Intel you can later update to 14th generation.

AM4 was great but wouldn’t really recommend for a long term build now just because there will be 0 upgrade path.

Hi all,

Lof of thanks for your advice.

What I need is a powerful daily working PC, not for gaming.

I select AMD Ryzen 9 because I already have AMD Ryzen 7 and 5 PCs here for years. I have no pre-set budget but I don't expect wasting money on expensive component which I won't use its power.

I prefer ASUS motherboards because I have been using their motherboards for years without problem.

I have cloned WordPress websites running on VirtualBox in the new PC to be built. The WordPress websites are not open to public but serve as backup copies of my live websites running on Internet. I'll perform tests on them before adding new features to my live websites.

Could I select;
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Processor 12C 24T AM4 Socket
instead of;

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Processor 16C 32T AM4 Socket

without sacrisfying much performance? "12C 24T AM4 Socket" is about 25% cheaper in price.

Please advise. Thanks in advice.
