Several years ago I purchased a cool little product called Disc-It to temporarily hold stacks of CD/DVDs beside my TV or on the computer desk.

Here is the only link I can find so far, where you can see a picture:
http://www.evriholder.com/Disc-IT-CD-Holder.asp

Appears this thing is discontinued, and I'd love to get a few more. So simple, 110% functional design, keeps those CD/DVDs by the TV from getting too out of hand when switching between all the kids movies and grown up stuff, doesn't fall over, etc. Now I have the same problem by the computer with multiple games needing to do annoying CD checks.

The closest thing I've found is here:
http://www.hiddenartshop.com/product.php?xProd=3337&xSec=505&s=1
But that's shipping from UK and pricey.

Anyone know of a similar product? Or have a Disc-It they don't want anymore? :)

I see your point from the illustrated ones -- but my suggested item does have the advantage of being free.

Try mounting the old CD case spindle sideways somewhere convenient -- then the disks won't stick to each other.

Use the base of a CD or DVD tub -- (the cylindrical plastic container bulk CD/DVD come in). The lower part from smaller 25 disk packs with the round centre onto which the disks are threaded.

These work ok, especially if you get the really short ones. But since the stick poking up in the middle is almost exactly as wide as the diameter of the CD's hole, when you go to grab a CD off the top of the stack with one hand you have to be careful or else you inadvertently pick up the whole thing which then drops to the floor and the rest of the CD stack goes flying.

The beauty of these small disc holders is that little metal ring you can see in the picture that has just the right shape to it so the CDs stay stacked evenly, but you can quickly grab them off the stack one at a time with one hand without moving the rest. It's also weighted well and has a rubbery surface on the base so it doesn't slide around.
