My system configuration:

Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd
System Model: M61PME-S2P
Bios: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+
Memory: 4GB
Direct X version: Direct X 11

My Power supply Unit configuration

AC input: 230V~6A/3A. 50/60Hz
Model: ATX P4 Power supply JIL-2414B(with 20+4 Pin)
DC output: 450 W, 45A (+5 V)

Basically I am looking to buy a graphics card that will go best with my above configured PC

My Motherboard (M61PME-S2P) has a PCIE x16 (1.0) slot

WIll the PCIE 2.0 and PCIE 3.0 cards be compatible on mymotheboard?

I have been doing quite a bit of research for some time now, I just want to know which Graphics card will go best with it.

Here are the 2 gfx cards i have narrowed down to:
Please feel free to suggest more

(PCIE 2.0)

(PCIE 3.0)

Basically I want to run Games like DOTA 2, AOE HD and farcry.
I compared the above 2 gfx cards on games-debate

but as you can see, the recommended RAM for ATI radeon r7 240 is 8 GB, and that for Zotac gefore gt 630 is 4 GB(which I currently have, and I dont plan to upgrade it to 8GB). So will the Radeon r7 240 have issues on the motherboard?

Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Also enlighten me about the Processor I have, how good is it? and am I "overkilling " it by installing gfx card?

Thanks for the quick reply. But as I mentioned, I have PCIE 1.0 x16 and the 240 runs on a PCIE 3.0 x16.
So will there be a problem? If not, will there be a performance drop? If yes, then how much?

Thanks in advance :)

dont worry.. it wont bottleneck much.. the gpu will adjust itself to the pci-e speed.. just dont hope to play on "ultra".. that will never happen.. you will have to stick form medium to low settings with anti aliasing, vsync and ambient occulsion off
