Sending but not receiving packets

Okay, so I've run into an issue with this PC at work. It won't connect to the internet. It will send packets but not receive any. I know the issue is coming from the computer or the motherboard integrated NIC. To list what I've tried so far;
I've reloaded windows xp several times.
Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers.
tried resetting the TCP/IP stack.
Full duplexing is enabled.
Link speed/ dublex is set to auto.
I was able to ping the machine with the loopback address, but wasn't able to ping the local host, default gateway, or the remote host.

If anyone's curious, it's a HP xw4100 workstation running windows xp with sp3. It's got a broadcom gigabit ethernet port integrated into the motherboard.

Anything else I can try? Any help is much appreciated!

Assuming you've already tried another known working ethernet cable, made sure your default gateway can reply to ICMP packets, made sure that other devices in the same network are able to ping the same default gateway, and still getting no replies on that pc then most likely the NIC is faulty.

Yes, I've tried every standard troubleshooting method. I've narrowed it down specifically to this machine. Ethernet cable is working perfectly and so is every other machine in our building. The problem lies with the NIC is all I can figure.

Since it's an integrated NIC, a last attempt could be to disable it in BIOS, uninstall it in windows, reboot and re-enable it in BIOS and finally install it once more in windows, had a "dead" integrated nic years ago and re-enabling it in BIOS fixed my issue.... worth the try.

Well, I disabled it in bios and uninstalled the device driver, then added both again and still no luck. I'll end up putting a new NIC in or just doing away with the old PC altogether. Thanks for your help!
