Question serious issue with upgrading to windows 11

hi all,

i upgraded my daughter's dell laptop to windows 11 via windows update.
all seemed to go smoothly until it was stuck forever on the "preparing windows" screen.
when i finally restarted it now either boots to a black screen with a mouse cursor or till you see the lock screen background and clock, but when i click something to get the password prompt, everything disappears and i's stuck with the lock screen background and no reaction.

i cant get into wiRE because of bitlocker, which it turns out was on by default from dell.

any idea on something i can do?

you will need windows boot media and try to repair there, windows reinstall also possible in win-re repairs wont help

it asks for the recovery key. i dont have it.
but windows is able to get to the login screen. cant i use the windows creds?
