Can anybody explain the differences between typical server and desktop CPU's when used in a single-processor configuration?

Intel sells Xeon and P4. Today both processors support hyper threading, so what is the difference?

AMD markets Opteron and FX51 - both support dual channel memory configurations, so what is the difference?

Not much that more the bios and chipset that differ also Opteron have more HT link enable on Intel side the FSB is at 533 FSB and support SMT and C.C.Nocona will be different from what i get. That for the low-end server/workstation

I dont like french test

Server CPUs have move severe testing requirements after manufacture to ensure stability.
