Setting Google Chrome to put it's temporary files and cookies on mechanical drive instead of SSD.

Currently I have two hard drives. An 840D 120GB SSD for boot and applications, and a 1TB WD Black drive for games and media. I have my Google Chrome downloads set up to go into a folder on the 1TB drive. My question is, how can I set it up so that all of the temporary and cookie files etc. are directed to the mechanical drive instead of the SSD? Currently I just run CCleaner once a week to rid the SSD of these files, however I don't think that is going to be good for the reads/writes of the SSD in the long run (correct me if I'm wrong). I only have about 60GB left on the SSD and want to preserve that as much as I can. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

This really isn't necessary. The temporary files and cookies are typically well under a GB, and don't see masses of writes.

Plenty of high-end laptops get away with SSDs only with no major dramas.

Thanks for the input guys, that helps. I guess my next question would be, if I bought a larger SSD, is it easy to clone my current SSD to the new one? Will it work and boot exactly like the old one with no issues?

Yes and yes - though you may need to expand the partition, but the cloning tool should tell you how.

Can't say. I tend to use commandline stuff built into linux because I'm used to it.
