Question Setting the ram XMP profile causes games to crash and be unplayable

I've had my pc for some time but I've only turned the ram's XMP on recently, and my game's (only tried dragon's dogma 2) started crashing after only a minute of play and it was unplayable. It has two xmp profiles, one is the advertised 6000 MHz and the other is at 5600, the second lower speed setting seems to work and both seemed to improve my fps in town, but I didn't do any proper fps tests. Anyone know why this might be happening? I've never had issues turning xmp on.
The ram is "TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000" and the mobo is a b760m gaming plus wifi. Also here are the full specs: pcpartpicker
Edit: also with the 5600 mhz, dragon's dogma 2 seems to completely ground to a halt for a second or 2 sometimes, I don't think it happened before.
