I am assigned to setup a network wit one domain controler for a class of 5 students with Server 2012r2. Windows Server 2012r2 has been installed on one PC. There is a switch (24 ports) and a Router on the rack . ( No configuration done on any) available for this project as a private training environment. all students have access to the internet using wireless.
Q: what are the steps to put the system together? Thanks for all input and help.

Solution
assign static IP to server, outside of DHCP scope.
go to server manager -> manage -> add roles and features -> install AD domain services role.
this will install the DNS role as well. you may also have to install DHCP if your router is not providing it.
change DNS server on all workstation to the IP address of the domain controller
Join the domain.
