Question Setting up M.2 with a sata on MSi b450 gaming max motherboard

Ok so i have an M.2 drive that has windows and such on it but i want to set up my 1tb western blue SATA drive for storage. i have the extra drive plugged in to the power supply and the sata cord plugged into sata port 2 on the motherboard but it doesnt show up on the file explorer, im sure im missing a step somewhere.

Show us a screencap of your Disk Management window.

Also, use of the M.2 port disables SATA ports 5 & 6 on the motherboard.

If the HDD is in one of those, move it.

Prob a temporary fault on their end.
I've used that for hundreds, probably thousands of images.

I get the same fail.
Probably just overloaded due to the holiday.

Moving on...
Does this new drive appear in Disk Management?
Possibly it just needs to be initialized.

nope. just the m.2

Both cables plugged into the drive, power and data?
Try a different port on the motherboard.
Try a different SATA data cable.
