Hey guys,
Im looking to set up a router in my basement so my pc can have a wired connection. Here is my situation. I have a modem and router set up in the upstairs office. Im my room all i have is a coaxial cable if i set up my dads pc with a wireless dongle and move the router in my room, how much would it cost me with TWC to switch the access for the coaxial cable. I was also thinking of doing a powerline setup but i just dropped 300$ on a router for gaming and dont want to sacrifice any connection speed. If you guys have any other ideas that would be great.

Solution
Normally it costs $20 for a time warner technician to come out and plug up your additional line. have you already tried just moving the modem to see if the line is active? might save you $20 most of the time cable companies just leave all lines connected through a splitter so the signal will be present if it is active.
