3080 MSI GP66 Leopard (First Laptop!)

Hey all! Today I got my first laptop ever- I’ll drop the link below- it’s a RTX 3080 i7 10th gen.

I need to build a workstation around it- capable of gaming (the best that the laptop can push, really..) yet portable enough to bring to work with me. I don’t know much about computers yet, but I’m trying to learn as I go!
I need a mouse, keyboard, two monitors, and.. some way of dust proofing it to some extent?

I work in a dusty woodshop about 3 hrs a day. it’s an enclosed space with a machine, not much I can do. Will dust filters harm my laptop?? What are the best options for filters that could easily be cleaned or replaced if needed?

For the mouse and keyboard, I’d like to have a setup that I could plug in and use wired at home- then detach and go wireless at work. If this is a bit more expensive that’s fine, or just pure wireless is okay if it’s a good enough product to never bunk out in the middle of something!

I would like 1 monitor to be 27”-32” and cannot be curved, 165hz+ and 1440p. The second could just be a cheap/slow 1080p or 1440p monitor, also not curved. I’m okay with going over budget if it’s to get an incredible primary monitor.

My budget is around 1k, but don’t let it hold back your recommendations, I’d love to know what you think is best of the best! It’s a work laptop “technically” so I just want to take care of it properly. Are there any settings I should change right out of the gate?

Anyways, thanks for the help! Sorry for my scattered post- I have a lot of questions! Thanks again!

Will dust filters harm my laptop??
Yes they will, they'll impeded the amount of air drawn in by the cooler resulting in higher temps and/or higher RPM on fans or both.

There aren't any since laptops weren't designed with dust filters, not since they came to be in existence(like decades ago. You should rethink what you want to do with your laptop investment since you're asking of it to do something that it wasn't meant to do. In fact, I see you having to disassemble the laptop every few months(more like 3 as opposed to 6 or 12 or 24) and cleaning the vents out. This will only help cripple the chassis and the screw mounting points on the laptop's chassis.

I've repaired about 100 laptops and all of them tend to end up in the same path, you can only disassemble and reassemble the laptop until the laptop starts falling apart from within.

As for your mouse + keyboard, you can pick just about any peripheral from any brand out there. Mice and keyboard that are often plugged in and out tend to suffer from wear and tear. Mice, suffer more than keyboard in 2021 due to the connector on the mouse's end being smaller than an USB Type0C connector which is now common on keyboards.

1K is your budget but you forgot to mention the currency.

Thanks so much for the excellent response! $USD.
The laptop isn’t getting dumped in a barrel of sawdust, it’s just outside the door to a woodshop- where it controls the CNC mill and various machines- unfortunately it’s place is predetermined for now. I’ll look into making a sort of filtered desk-box or something, perhaps. I see it has some space for stuff to get below the keys, is it bad practice to air dust the keyboard daily? Should I vacuum instead? And the same question towards keeping the ports clean- what’s my best approach? I don’t mind doing daily or weekly maintenance if it helps.

Beyond the cleaning portion of things- I notice I don’t have a DisplayPort output from my laptop- how could I achieve 165hz+ 1440p? A docking station maybe? Do you think this laptop is capable of running dual 27” 1440p or should I lower my expectations?

I’ll take a trip to microcenter and get a mouse and keyboard I like, seems simple enough.
This is the laptop. MSI GP66
