Hi guys n gals,
I had some issues installing Logitech Gaming Software a few weeks ago and after spending a while trying to figure it out, It was suggested that I run a sfc scan to check my windows.
After running the sfc /scannow command, I get the following message
'Windows Resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to repair them'
See CBS log file for more info, etc
So I tried to look at the CBS log file (5.4mb of it) but it says 'access denied'. Tried giving myself permission but Windows wouldn't let me!
I did some research on-line and tried the following:
1. use the 'Upgrade' function from the Windows disc but error'd, saying my windows could not be upgraded.
2. Tried using repair option on windows disc but it said it could not repair.
3. Ran chkdsk C: /F /R but no change, no bad sectors either.
I don't know what else to try. I am worried that my Windows one day won't boot. I don't have a backup (I know guys, don't shout at me!) nor do I have system restore option on as was told to turn this off as I have SSD's.
Can anyone help or suggest a good solution.
I REALLY want to avoid a fresh install of windows BUT I will be backing up once I get this sorted!
Thanks in advance.
