Shadowplay and Write Speeds

So I used to be able to get files from Shadowplay while writing to my external hard-drive that were 59/fps or 60/fps, but now whenever I try to write to my external hard-drive that is hooked up with USB 3.0, I can't get any files above 30/fps. Most of them are around 17/fps, and it only gets worse the longer the recording is.

I haven't changed anything, and I get the same results when writing to my internal hard-drive. I haven't changed a thing, and it's starting to annoy me now...
What gives? I haven't changed anything since getting the 60/fps files.

Checking my write speeds, both of my drives hover around 98 mbps, which should be MORE than enough for Shadowplay to write to.

Solution
Hi there Rawlucidity,

Some bad sectors on the drive, could be a possible cause.
You can check your drive's health out with one of these: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
Observe the SMART results and look for reallocated/pending and uncorrectable sectors. If there is something wrong with the drive, you need to back up the data stored on it.

Another thing you can do is to defrag the HDD.

Let me know how this goes,

Since he tried with different disks this seems unlikely.
It is possible that some other background task is running lowering your speed.
You can try giving the nvscap process a real time priority through task manager, this way it will run as fast as it needs to even if this means slowing down other tasks.

I checked the fragmentation on both drives and it was 2% and 3%.

I switched the USB 3.0 port and everything worked fine again.

Must just be a faulty port. ty for the answers.
