I got to ~80% complete (didn't do the ambulance missions, taxi missions, etc.) and liked what I saw.
I owned GTAIII for PS2 and the PC version of Vice City introduced some annoying load time hesitations, but otherwise it is in many ways superior to GTAIII.
The problem I had with it, is that it seemed more toned down from the earlier games. From the original game to this one, every successive release seems more and more mainstream in terms of how violent it is. Anyone remember the limo abduction mission in the first GTA? The hotdog truck mission and the water-coffin RC taxi mission in GTA2 are also truly excellent.
The music was cool, slightly gimmicky, but still cool.
Too many safehouses to buy IMO.
Overall, the game was perhaps the best so far. My primary problem was with the missions not being quite as gritty as the ones from earlier GTA games.
The Bank Job mission was cool though, as was the Golf Club mission.
