I totally agree with you about Vice City's lack of originality. Sure they added motorcycles and helicopters. But the characters still look horrible for todays standards and the sreets are DEFINATELY too narrow. I don't understand how everyone can just jump on the bandwagon with this game like it's GTA 3 for the first time. It's basically a re-hash. But a damn good one!

And in it's defense, the game runs butter smooth without any major hitches. And just about all the problems with the first III have been remedied.

I agree that graphics of this game is nothing special. But IMO, this game is much better than GTA Vice City....gameplay-wise. You need to play the game more.

In GTA-VC, Tommy isn't always a delivery boy. Sometime, he becomes the boss and works for himself. He can buy a lot of properties and do the property missions....completely new in GTA vice city. One of the races in this game will make you feel that you are playing NFS-HP2. New special vehicle missions- like Pizza Boy. You can change your dess in the game (this can get rid of 1-2 star wanted level)

I don't understand why you are complaining about roads. Think about a real city. Fewer roads are 4-6 lane and there's a lot of narrow roads. The ciry design is realisic, this may be the problem to you.

IMO, the game is much better than GTA3 if you don't mind 0% improvement in graphics

Well said.

But it still feels like the same thing. Which I know is a good thing...(epiphany)...I just realized that this game isn't a true sequel anyways. So you can't expect an original upgrade like we all hope GTA 4 will be.

So I withdraw my displeasure with this game. Still a little too short on missions though.

I dont really care about the graphics as long as the game is good in gameplay. Hell if i still had my GTA 1 disk i'd still be playing it. Yea i'm still new to this game so i'm still giving it a chance. I'm a big gta series fan. This game is much like the jump from GTA 1 to GTA 2. There wasnt much difference. I dunno if you've played them.
Yea The city has to be realistic and all but they could've at least made them like in gta 3. Well maybe i'll get used to the roads soon. The silent hero thing is gone which is good, makes a big difference. Hey How do you control the RC helicopter, I cant complete the damn mission and hey you have a no cd crack for it? Can you please send it to me?

What do you mean Not a true sequel?

I feel the need...The need for weed! Jay Kay

Vice City is not GTA 4, right? GTA 4 will be the true sequel to GTA 3. Vice City was more of an add-on that got turned into a full fledge stand-alone game.

If you notice, VC has alot of the same nuances that GTA3 has. The same type of radar, the same types of menus etc. I'm sure when 4 comes out they will reinvent the style of the game and give it a proper graphical upgrade.

Can you actually say that Vice City "feels" like a true sequel?

Hell if i still had my GTA 1 disk i'd still be playing it
Do you know that you can get GTA1 available for download at Rockstar games? It's 100% free now.

I haven't played GTA 1 & 2

I wasn't able to finish that RC helecopter mission without cheat. I slowed down the game (2x) using cheat, and then I was able to control it better. It took booooring 12 minutes to complete this mission (6 minutes in game time). The game time becomes normal after you pass/fail the mission.

IMO, this mission is the worst mission in GTA Vice City.

I don't know why but I found the RC helicopter mission to be MUCH easier on the PC than on the PS2. I beat it on only my second try on the PC whereas it took me forever on the PS2. I think the fact that I was up close and personal to the action helped in maneuvering the 'copter. Of course the fact that I had already beaten it once before might have influenced my success the second time around.

Yea i know about that but i've been trying to get it for about a month now, It always says high traffic try later
🙁 and i cant even find a new cd now since the game is so old. Thanks for the link.

Few more differences between GTA3 and GTA: Vice City:-

## The main character of GTA3 was not only dumb, but he also had no name- some boss called him "kid", some called him "fido". GTA-VC main character does have a name.

## GTA3 was kinda "anti-drug" game. Every gang but Yardies hated Columbian Cartels for their drug business. There was quite a number of anti-drug mission. But in GTA-VC, the main character is a drug dealer and there's many drug missions. Even there's a vechicle mission of selling drugs (like taxi, police etc. missions)

I love this game, unfortunately I got my 5 yr old cousin into it too (That got my aunt MAD since she doesn't like violent games). IMO its better than GTA3 because your not just doing missions, you're taking over the town!

recommend postal 2 to her

I'm at 53% now and the story missions wont go any further. I've completed almost all of the other missions except for cherry popper and The Stadium. I'm getting bored with this game again :frown:

Yea, I found that there wasn't much to keep my interest after I finished the last story based mission. Rockstar needs to think of something else besides hidden packages, rampages, and stunts to keep our attention. That or seriously lengthen the story mode.

I found GTA VC unbearably boring, I've played GTA and GTA3 and the only difference I can really tell between 3 n VC is that in VC he wears a pink shirt. Once you get pat the whole criminal aspect the game becomes very mediocre and you start seeing how much other games are better and without having to rely upon an 18/R rating and a "cool" setting.

Just buy GTA3, it's less than half the price and an almost identical game

Look at the shambles Rockstar made of Midnight Club 2. Rockstar make dire games that are style/image over substance and as soon as the image is stripped away they pale into comparison when compared to other games of the genre.

I've heard that you need to complete 60% of the game to get the last story based mission(s). I don't know and I don't really care as I'm spent on this game.

Half-Life 2 where are you!?

Don't forget Doom3.....actually I'd better forget about it, I'm running a piddly radeon.....roll on Doom2.

And before anyone asks, no I'm not playing GTA VC on my system, I've been playing it over my brother's. He's got a 9500 Pro

To get the last story based missions you have to complete all the assets i.e. the road races, ice cream truck, the night club, porn studio, taxi and boat yard.

In ancient times they had no statistics so they had to fall back on lies

To get the last story based mission, you have to finish 45% of the game and buy + do all "print works" missions.

Ive still got the original GTA CD, and if you were in the UK I would send you a copy. I dont know how to create a CD image or single file transfer over the net so that would be no good 🙁
