I love the harmonica intro to the song School by Supertramp, it just seems to be mesmerizing to me and extremely soothing, I almost wish the entire song was just the harmonica.

Share your songs that just seem to do the same for you?

You may or not, have to bear with the ad as soon as the song starts playing, :pfff: (Freaking ads are everywhere!), but you'll hear what I mean.

I would like to take the time to personally thank everyone because this thread has really turned out much better than anticipated, I have added a lot of different music to my DJ program thanks to your many suggestions, by all means keep them coming.

Thank You All! Ry :)

I have to say at 63 years old I find it most difficult to get into new groups of the modern day as my tastes are centered around Classic Rock simply because back in the day many released entire albums that were fantastic, and I find generally today many albums are fronts for 1 or 2 good songs, which is rather disappointing.

That said I have found a group of today that I actually like a lot and that group is Muse, and the video below is the first song I ever heard them do.

I know the general geek ethos and demographic sits on one side of the loose dichotomy in opposition to Hip-Hop. Granted, that's probably why i love it. It's todays Punk that the old suburban bourgeois failed to decipher and claimed to lack rhythmic virtuosity, or complain it doesn't exist and tuned into more dusty dad rock from the 60's and 70's. (which i also listen to as well by the way lol)

"Madvillainy" by MF DOOM and Madlib. Eclectic samples and non-sequitur rhyme schemes. Probably one of the more famous underground hip hop duos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpaonSDPw7Y&list=PL9dk_xtWpAkKs1-EKcvq-nKwdaaS-3czd&index=2

Favorite Albums of 2015 were (Yes, it's indelibly all Hip-Hop so look away if you're not interested):

"The Night Took Us in Like Family[ By Jeremiah Jae and producer L'Orange (This is an excellent concept album) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FabSnRlzVKE&list=PLeWYgf9ITMyNrUCBFY5CsAixb2bhd44C8&index=1

"You Disgust Me" By Gangrene (Like the thematic tracks like "The Man with the Horn" with samples some dialogue from the film "Taxi Driver") https://youtu.be/LEllloh34zA?t=660

"Copper Gone" (2014, but whatever) By Sage Francis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqDdwJlhbO8&list=PLjny2LoxHkSbCbvp03dcVjwhC9cfi-isV

"The Good Fight" By Oddisee (Some of my favorite production and solid flow) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0cGnfx4nWU&list=PLRAE_GFzQUPcP71pksIJlIQdPId05JHV2

There are more but i feel they'd be to rough and gritty for the stereotypical code of ethics of most people here. Not to sound pretentious or anything.

Music is my life.
It makes me feel free and easy. On the other hand, music can depress you and makes feel melancholic.
My music style is rock. I’m listening alternative, industrial, new metal. I have many favorites bands and singers. I know some of them since I was a little boy. Even now these songs could bring me unforgettable feelings. There are Linkin Park, Switchfoot, Three Days Grace, Staind etc.
Now I’m listening Godsmack. And I want to say that the Sally Erna voice make me feel dizzy. His songs are really mesmerizing.

Everything about Loreena Mckennitt is mesmerizing. I love the entire Nights at the Alhambra concert DVD I listened to it thousands of times. I also seen her live which was incredible, she's an amazing musician. Here are three songs from that concert:

I find some kind of an inner balance in his composing works. Gnossiennes and Gymnopédies are my favourite, some are more melancholic whereas others bring an eerie feeling. Minimalism in those perfectly matched Van Gogh Alive exhibition where I heard and thought about this music conciously for the first time.

Following the subject, I feel that I should contribute with Sarathy Korwar and his project, which you can hear on the album "Day to day". It's an amazing fusion of folk and jazz with an ambient scheme and overlay. I personally love traditional music, especially eastern and with drone feel. Those sounds make my mind wander.

If you DO like hip hop, try Little By Little by The Chicharones, although even if you don't like it, you'll probably like this one.
