Shared External HDD not accessible : " You do not have permission ...."

Hey guys,

im trying to Share an External HDD which is connected to my Desktop PC , so that i can access it on my laptop.

I shared it and i changed the permissions for "everyone" to read/write/full access.

I can access my Desktop PC through my laptop, but when I click the External Hard drive it comes up with this error:

Did you change the permissions to everyone for the folder attributes itself? Or did you change the advanced sharing permissions? You should have the folder attributes set to "everyone" and you can set the advanced sharing attributes to a either everyone or local user account on the computer with the share. If you have the share attributes down to a user account, you should be prompted for a username and password when going to connect to it. This makes me think you don't have the folder attributes set correctly.
