Hello,

I am trying to share an internet connection between NT and XP. The
internet access is on the XP computer. when I attempt to connect from
the NT computer I have the following error:
"TCP/IP CP à reporté l'erreur 1214: Le format du nom réseau spécifié
n'est pas valide"
Can somebody help me ?

Thanks in advance.

Arnaud,

You may have one of several issues.
All of which are addressed in the following KB Article:

Louise,

First, I must say I am happy someone is listening!
I did all that is written in the article ( but re-install DUN ) and I
still have the same problem ( error 1214 ).
The two computers are connected using an RS232 cross-cable.
I have NT 4.0 and XP Home and the connection was working a month ago. I
don't know what I did wrong.

Anyway, thanks again.

As a last resort you could reset the tcpip stack
netsh int ip reset <logfilename>
and then reconfigure both machines.

Hello again,

What do you mean "reset the tcpip stack" ?
I have try "netsh" from MSDOS but it doesn't work
Where can I find an other RAS client tool ?

thanks in advance.

Hello once again,

I have copied netsh.exe from XP home to NT.
Now, I have the message:
"Le point d'entrée de procédure RtlStringFromGUID est introuvable dans
la bibliothèque de liaisons dynamique ntdll.dll" when I execute netsh
from MS-DOS Prompt.
Am I making any progress ?

Best regards
