shift key not working

My shift key is not working as the 'shift' key. When I use the shift key it goes back one page for every time I push it. It isn't my keyboard because I changed it out to make sure and it does the same thing on the other keyboard. I don't have any sticky keys or anything else clicked on when looking at the control panel accessibility options. I can't get into my email because I need to use a symbol, so I'm hoping someone can help me.

What browser are you using? Some of them have customizable shortcuts.

i usually use firefox. but this has only been happening for a few days. i have had this keyboard for several years and have never had a problem. thanks

Open a new tab and type 'about:config' (no quotes). Search for anything having to do with shift keys and change it to '0' for false where appropriate.

I can't seem to find anything that says anything about shift keys or even the keyboard
