Background: I have Bose Companion III speakers and Skullcandy SLYRs connected to my tower. The speakers have a 3.5 mm jack and the headset is through a usb.

Problem: So, when I want to use my headphones, I have to change my sound settings to choose them as default, or else the sound comes out of my speakers.

Solution: Is there a way I can make a shortcut that quickly changes the sound settings to choose my headset as default or also choose my speakers as default? I dont feel like going into the control panel every time I want to change my sound output.

THANKS!

Hi,

The quickest way to access sound settings is to just right click on the speaker icon and select Playback Devices and that's where you change the default speaker or headset. You can also just create a sound icon on your desktop so you won't have to go into Control Panel. In Control Panel look for Sound then right click on it and select Create Shortcut.

thank you that helped alot!! But do you know if there is a way to make like a program that will automatically make the change for me? As in, change the default sound ouput between my headphones and speakers? It's just a pain to have to go to the sound settings every time, even though it rally only takes like 10 seconds.
