Hello!
Thanks for taking some interest.
First of all, here is my build. If your wondering it is 5 years old it used to be a graphic designing PC.

GPU: Geforce 8800GT
CPU: Intel core 2 Quad 2.40Hz
Memory: 8.00 GB RAM
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I am wondering because my friends are building modern PCs for gaming, and I am wondering if I will be OK for the latest games or should I build a modern PC.

Thanks for helping me out and please ask any questions you might have!

Thanks!

OK, I think I have an idea of my plan.

I will get the 970 for Christmas (if the price goes down)
Install it, save up a bit of money. Then upgrade the motherbourd CPU and ram.

Personally guys does this sounds like a good plan, and I know I won't be getting maximum proformance from the 970 because of the slot and the CPU but will it be sooo bad that it is not worth doing?

Thanks for you helpful fast advice guys!! :)

ok , have fun gaming

amd r9 380x will be released in march, it is 20nm chip.. its memory will be 4.5 times faster than the present gddr5

it is supposed to be a bit faster than the gtx 980 and consume less than 200w (rumored to be 197)

nvidia will drop its prices to compete...you can buy then
