Question should I be worried about buying Dell precision 7730 with Quadro P4200 graphics card

hello Good people once again, I'm in the process of planning to order a dell precision 7730 workstation with Quadro P4200 of 8GB dedicated, my worry is I'm unable to buy a model like Dell precision 7740 with Quadro rtx 3000 due to low funds, the model with rtx would have been better due to low heat emissions since it has a tdp of 80w against 115w of quadro p4200, should I be worried that I'll be experiencing tremendous heating issues with this model of 7730 while doing my heavy renderings plus some other heavy duty items, the heat and tdp has been a very serious concern to me in making a decision towards buying a mobile workstation, thanks in advance for your response

Huh? 16nm Pascal P4200 has a rated TDP of 100w vs the 12nm 80w Turing RTX3000. Both are close to GTX1070 performance-wise. I haven't seen anywhere list the P4200 as 115w.

20w extra in a laptop means the fan will be louder.

Great, thanks for the correction, yes the p4200 is rated at 100w, lets say at current whenever I do rendering using twinmotion software for example, when I set my graphics performance to high, with an average model size, I do check in the task manager, performance tab, and see temperature of my previous Quadro P3000 at 60 degree Celsius, does it mean now being that I want to try the p4200, I'll be experiencing temps higher than 60 degrees for the same models being rendered, being that my current Quadro P3000 has tdp of 75watts,

When you compare the system that you are choosing as a Workstation for heavy rendering and modeling with Quadro P4200 in Dell Precision 7730, it’s a reasonable concern to have about getting hot. It is believed that the Precision 7730 has a good cooler design, which should help in dealing with P4200’s TDP of 115W.

Although the P4200 can load higher in terms of temperature than the RTX 3000; the P4200 is still a performer for the tasks it is built for. To deal with this problem try to place your work desk in a room with a good flow of air and avoid using materials that can hinder airflow at your work station.

Monitoring software enables tracking of temperatures and if the temperatures rise beyond 85°C one can slowdown on work or use a cooling pad. All in all, the Precision 7730 will suffice you well need meet your needs hence the best recommended variant within your budget constraint.

Well, both P4200 and RTX3000 are twice as fast as P3000 so would complete any task in half the time. That means the RTX3000 would thus use about half the power for the same rendering task and P4200 25% more power than this.

Therefore P4200 should take half as long to complete the task and use ~67% as much power as the P3000 to do so. So still less heat output than the P3000 even if the temperature may briefly spike higher. I will say 60°C is an unrealistically low temperature to expect from a laptop.
