Hey Guys
I have been wanting a gaming computer for quite some time now and i have recently acquired an older PC. I was wondering if buying a gtx 750 ti would be a good bet to be able to play games at 720p or even 1080p, and what type of fps i would be getting. i am also not sure if it will even be able to run in my system, if it will fit or if it has enough power. I am open to any suggestions about which graphics card to buy or if i should upgrade other parts of my computer.
My computer
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Ram - 4gb DDR2
GPU - I am pretty sure it is a EN9600GT Asus
Hard Drives - 2X Barracuda 7200 500 gb
Power Supply - 240v AC
thank you soo much in advance

Hi There,

I am a user of GTX 750ti, it's a very good graphics card. But the specs which you have, I don't think you would be able to use this Graphics card to its full capacity. But still, if you are not looking forward to upgrading your other hardware parts then you can go for this graphics card. This graphics card works fine still for current games and you can easily get more than 30FPS in Medium to High Settings, which for me is enough to have a good gaming experience. If you see lags in any games then probably its because your other hardware specs aren't compatible with that particular game.

My RIG

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 ( OC to 4 GHZ )
8GB DDR3 RAM
MSI GTX 750ti 2GDDR5LP

Let me know if my comments are useful to you.

I'd not buy a 750ti unless you can get a very good deal on it. Current pricing on new units is higher than newer series cards. You'd be better off with a gtx1030. Also there was an issue with legacy/uefi bios in the 750 series cards, many of which would not work on the older mobo's. So it's kinda pot luck, get the right one, you are good, the wrong one and it's a no-go.

As far as upgrades go, you really have none, only thing you can do is add an SSD for a better windows experience, the core components being old enough that they really aren't even in production anymore.
