Should I buy a new S5 or Ex-Display S6?

I'm looking to buy a new phone on a budget of around 500-600 AUD. I like both Apple and Samsung, and I'd like a decent screen size thus I rule the iPhone 5 out as it is too small. The iPhone 6 looks like a good option so far I haven't found it anywhere below the 750 AUD mark for Ex-Display, which is a little out of my budget. Two phones I do like the looks of is the Galaxy S5 an S6. The S5 I can get for 500 AUD new. The S6 I can get in Ex-Display condition for 580. My last phone I bought in used condition and I had no problem. So would it be worth getting the S6 or stretching to the iPhone 6?

S5.
1) S5 is waterproof.
2) An ex-display S6? Good luck with a dying screen. Horrible experience.
3) I dislike big iPhones. The iPhone 6 is unwieldy, and simply not worth getting.
