Should I buy a refurbished CPU?

I am looking for a place to purchase one of these: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66Ghz Dual-Core Processor. Since I am rather pressed for cash, I've been looking on eBay. I'm wondering if a refurbished CPU will serve my needs, especially since I'll be doing some gaming on my machine.

How much are you looking to spend? The CPU will be ok for older or less demanding games, but GTA V and Witcher 3 will probably be off the menu

The list price is around forty bucks, which is not out of my range, but I'd like to spend less if possible. Most of the games I'll be playing are older, so I know they'll work. I just bought Ori and the Blind Forest though, and that's rather new.

On eBay I saw a core 2 quad 2.83ghz for 59, if you can stretch to getting a quad core that'll be more or less the furthest you can stretch your system
