My friend is offering me Galax gtx 1060 3gb video card at 15k. (200$). It is one month used card and he bought it for review. Should I buy gtx 1060 3gb or go for RX580 4gb at 18k. I want gaming at 1080p ultra setting. My priority is minimum 60fps in all games. Will I able to play 1440p in 3gb vram.

Solution
The reviews I've read show the 3GB version of the GTX1060 at the bottom of comparison charts; 3GB is no longer enough for highest settings at 1080p (or higher). The 6GB version is notably better.
The RX 580 might be a good choice too, but it uses more power. What PSU do you have; brand and model please, not just wattage? Thanks.

As a guide - I've just put a 6GB 1060 in my daughters' PC. with nVidia hairworks turned on it's around 40-50fps on Witcher3 at 1080p. Without hairworks, 60fps is pretty solid.

Yes you will be able to play @ 1440p with a 3GB 1060, but you will need to reduce quality to keep within the cards' limits.

If you are looking to go to 1440p, I wouldn't go for a 3GB 1060 tbh, I'd wait until you can afford something more suitable.

Solution
I get stuttering with my 780 3gb if I turn the settings up too high in some games at 1080p and can see VRAM usage hitting 100% when this happens, some games even warn before playing. Turning settings down resolves this. I would not buy a 3gb card for 1080p in 2017. If you intend to go 1440p then I would be looking at 1060 6gb/580 8gb/1070 8gb and nothing lower.
