[SOLVED] Should I buy i7-7700K or i7-6700K ?

My motherboard is a Z170x, which support both(up to 7th gen) ... I am using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO ...

which one do you recommend ? Is my cooler good for both ? If not, what cooler do you recommend ?

I would suggest upgrading to the 7700k if that's at all affordable. However, what I'd really suggest is upgrading to a Ryzen 3700X on a x470 board as it will be newer and is more affordable since they don't have PCIe 4.0 like the x570.

It's basically the same CPU,the 7700k has a few hundred Mhz more at default settings but if you are going to overclock both are pretty much the same,so it depends on the price.

That Ryzen upgrade will be around $465 compared to buying a used i7-7700K at the lowest price of $300 on eBay. Although, the Ryzen will be new and will perform better in gaming and at other work loads.

Which air cooler would you get for 6700K that is under $80 CDN ? Cryorig H7, Phanteks TC12dx or something else ?

I currently have a Hyper 212, Would a Noctua D14 fit ? my case is a deepcool tesseract...

what is your recommendation ?
