Question Should i buy the 5700x or X3D?

Im looking to upgrade my 3700x to one of the 5700's because i want to keep the same platform but increase performance. I have a MSI 4070 with 32GB of 3200 ddr4 ram. i was wondering since the 5700x is 40 dollars cheaper should i just go with that. I have noticed some low performance in some games with the 3700x and would like to upgrade. Thanks!!!

If games is you do most of then 5700x3D.

Personally, I think that neither the 5700x not the 5700x 3D are enough of an upgrade over a 3700x. In your boots I would VSYNC or otherwise cap my frames to reduce stutters, and in the meantime save up for an AM5 build.

However, if you are determined to go AM4, the x3D is the way to go.
